Creeghduff Lodge

Breakfast was amazing, with a fry, fruit, cereal, toast and yogurt, and we’ll definitely come back. John and Sarah made us feel so welcome for our one-night stay with our nine-year-old grandson. Our fantastic room had a double bed and two singles, and he chose the double! The tea and coffee facilities, fridge, and homemade cookies were handy, and the ensuite bathroom was spacious. There was also a lovely shared area outside the room with two small sofas, another TV, and a really large beanbag. It felt like home. Thanks again, Gloria.

We couldn’t recommend Creeghduff Lodge highly enough, and we’re grateful to John and Sarah for everything during our stay. The setting is rural, between Newcastle and Downpatrick, with Strangford a short drive away and the ten-minute car ferry to Portaferry. From our window we had lovely views across fields towards the Mourne mountains, and John and Sarah’s two family dogs were friendly too. Our family bedroom was huge, with a dressing room, spotless ensuite, and WiFi. There was a separate sitting area on the landing with recliners, a TV, and a big floor cushion where we could play Uno together. The house and garden were beautiful. We were welcomed like old friends, and found tea, coffee, hot chocolate, homemade chocolate chip cookies, fresh milk, and bottled water in the room. Breakfast was excellent too: hot drinks, orange juice, fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, and tasty Ulster Fries. It’s far better than any other B&B we’ve stayed in over the years.

Sarah and John make you feel right at home. The rooms are cosy and very comfortable, with modern amenities, and the homemade cookies are yum. A hearty cooked breakfast sets you up for the day. It’s a good base for exploring, or for relaxing and doing nothing. Highly recommend a stay.

It’s a lovely country spot, with beautiful views towards the Mourne Mountains and a great base for enjoying the area. The room was enormous, and the shower room was spacious. Sarah and John have thought of everything to make guests comfortable. We had a wonderful stay.
