The rooms are clean and lovely, check-in was straightforward, and the location is great. But the noise above the kitchen made this one of my worst nights of sleep in a long time. Staff noise carries on until nearly midnight, and the extractor fan right outside the windows is around 90 dB. There’s no chance of sleeping until it’s switched off, if someone remembers to switch it off. The owner or staff should spend a night in one of those rooms to hear it for themselves. Such a shame, because the accommodation is otherwise brilliant. I wouldn’t return to room 5 or any of the other rooms above the kitchen.

The room was recently renovated, modern, and really comfortable. Allister was there to greet us and went out of his way to get us checked in and settled. He made us feel like friends instead of guests. Since many places were closing by the time we arrived, we ordered sandwiches, and they looked straight out of a food magazine. We’ll come back.

The staff were really friendly, though I thought the price was a bit high for a room-only stay. There’s no off-road parking.
