The bill was very reasonable, and the food was pretty good. I was visiting Driffield and managed to book a table just before the kitchen shut. It's a friendly pub, with the usual pub dishes on the menu, and our food arrived promptly. Table service was good too.

The outside might give the wrong impression, but the rooms are clean and the beds are okay. Dinner is freshly cooked at night and really good, and breakfast is cooked fresh too, which was brilliant. You'd pay a lot more at some pubs or hotels and get something no better.

I was so looking forward to the relaunch tonight, and there was a good band booked. But my lovely local has gone downhill. The choice of spirits was limited, and the toilets weren't fully working. Really disappointing, to say the least.

We came for two nights with our baby to visit relatives, and the stay was miserable. A live band played beneath our room until nearly midnight while my baby and the rest of us were trying to sleep after a busy family day. Nobody told us about the music, even though they knew we had a baby. Had we known, we wouldn't have booked. The noise and the room both left me unhappy. It feels like the place is trying to be both a B&B and a live music venue, and the two don't work well together. Maybe nobody has thought it through, or maybe it's just greed. If you want to sleep, or are travelling with kids, this is a very bad place to stay. They knew about our baby before we booked, so they could have warned us. It just feels like a place that's keen to take your money.
