Lisnacurran Country House

The Oriental room was fabulous, and the guesthouse itself was beautiful, just off the main road. Check-in was easy, and we had two delicious breakfasts in a gorgeous dining area, with the nicest staff. Lynne, the owner, sent a WhatsApp with the check-in and breakfast details, and communication was great. We loved our stay, would happily come back and definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely, quiet evening at Lisnacurran earlier this year during our one-night stay. Lynne kept in touch well, and we got to use the hot tub. We drove to a neighboring town for dinner, then Aoife served an excellent breakfast in the morning. Many thanks, and we hope to return!

The breakfast had a great range of high-quality options, and the bar and lounge were inviting and looked fantastic. We spent four nights at Lisnacurran Country House and had a wonderful stay. Lynne was a great host, and the room was fitted and finished to a very high guest-house standard. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The Oriental room was spotless, quiet with no other guests around, and nicely done. The bathroom was clean and comfortable, with a good shower and steady pressure and temperature. The double bed felt a bit small for two adults, but there was also a single bed, so it wasn’t really a problem. Parking was decent and suitable, though the bays were hard to see in the dark. Take care turning in from the A road, as drivers behind may not slow down. The stay was generally good, though the arrangements got confusing at times. After 12 hours of travel, we received several messages asking if self check-in was okay, and in the same message we were offered a free upgrade to Arthurs, another property a couple of miles away in town, because of cancellations. We were fine with self check-in, but it might have helped to get the upgrade offer a day earlier or separately. We were then told breakfast would be at Arthurs. It was amazing, and I’m glad we accepted, though it meant planning to leave earlier. On the last morning, breakfast moved back to the B&B because Arthurs had too few bookings that day. They laid out a full spread just for us, which was also amazing. Our host was ill, so we didn’t meet anyone at the property for three nights, until breakfast on our departure day. The rooms weren’t cleaned for the same reason. Fortunately, our stay was short enough that it didn’t cause major problems. All told, four stars feels fair. I think it would have been five or more if our hosts hadn’t had such bad luck. I was happy and comfortable, even if the logistics left me puzzled at points. I understand that sometimes things don’t go to plan despite the hosts’ best intentions, and they handled it reasonably well.
