The owner did so much to make my stay better. They dried all my wet gear, washed my wet clothes and even repaired my sleeping bag. Wowsers. The room was really comfortable, with a nice firm bed. The shower was lovely and hot with a strong flow, and the towels came straight from the heater, warm and snuggly. Bliss. Thanks ever so much for a wonderful stay. Dean

The location is great, quiet and relaxing, and easy to get around on foot. Our room was clean and comfy, the bathroom was very clean, and breakfast was lovely too. Everyone was welcoming, helpful and accommodating, and gave us great advice on where to eat, what to see and what to do. Can’t wait to come back one day!

We had to change our itinerary because of the check-in cutoff. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we expected to arrive around 1 am. We called and were told check-in after 10 pm was impossible, despite the listing being for a 3-star hotel on Expedia. The owners describe it as a small guesthouse with strict check-in rules, and say you can’t check in after 7 pm. We cancelled our Loch Ness trip, paid more for a better hotel in Loch Lomond, and travelled to the Isle of Skye half a day earlier than planned. We asked Expedia for a refund, but the business denied it, according to Expedia. I’ve travelled extensively across the United States and most of Asia, and this was new to me. I teach hospitality and tourism and know how hotels and guesthouses operate. Calling it a hotel suggests 24/7 services, and I found this practice fraudulent and far from basic hospitality, especially when we were distressed travelers in a foreign country. My bank accepted our dispute claim, which was a small relief after this awful experience. Fellow Google Local Guides and travelers, avoid this shady business and its nasty attitude, and stay somewhere else in a REAL hotel. Expedia offers this product but did nothing to advocate for our rights, so I’d call them a partner in crime in this case. I strongly recommend NOT using Aslaich’s or Expedia's accommodation service in the Loch Ness area.

The nearby village has a useful evening takeaway, as well as hotels and restaurants. The bedroom was small but well equipped, though there was no hot water except in the shower. We booked in February, knowing breakfast, which had high ratings in reviews, would cost an extra £8. But when we arrived, the house was empty and the owner was away, with a note saying breakfast wouldn’t be offered and might be available at nearby hotels. The cleaner said the next day that we should have been told by email, but we hadn’t. Not ideal. Bed but no breakfast, and not our best B&B in Scotland.
