We stayed in the Thistle Room, which was spacious, clean, and had a comfy bed and a large, clean bathroom. The hosts were friendly and efficient, and breakfast was really nice. I especially recommend dinner, particularly the Dutch Meatball. You need to book dinner in the morning. They also offer whisky tastings at the B&B, with dozens or perhaps a hundred whiskies to choose from. It's a great option for tasting or having drinks with dinner without having to drive. That's a big bonus given Scotland's driving laws about alcohol. A great place to stay, especially if you like whisky.

The highlight was heading to the whisky tasting room after dinner and trying whiskies from their extensive collection. I learned a lot about the different types of Scotch whisky, and it turned me into a fan. We stayed two nights last October, just outside Dufftown in a great location. The host and hostess gave excellent service, and the meals were very good.

The whisky selection at The Gables B&B was a lovely way to spend the evenings. We stayed four nights, and everything felt thoughtfully looked after, from the spotless, comfortable rooms to the cosy whisky decor. Siebette and Anne Jan were so welcoming and always happy to answer questions or suggest things to do nearby. The food was a treat at every meal. We left feeling relaxed and would gladly recommend it to anyone after a warm, comfortable stay.

The whisky lounge was the best part of the B&B for us. We spent a pleasant evening there sharing drams with AJ, Siebette, and the other guests. Our Tartan room had loads of space, a comfortable bed, thoughtful decor, and a fantastic bathroom. The house is lovely, and the hosts are friendly and easy to talk to. It’s surrounded by nature, so it’s peaceful, while the area's sights are still a quick drive away.

The meals were really good, and the room was lovely and spotless. Such a cosy, well-kept B&B, ideal if you want a quiet break, especially if you enjoy whisky. The couple running it were so friendly and kind. We had an excellent stay and would absolutely recommend it.
