The house is fabulous and the area outstanding. A brilliant pub just a few hundred yards away came to the rescue with great food. It was our second visit, but this time there was no cooker, which was a real problem for our group of eight, including four children.

The kitchen is very basic, with no ventilation over the cooker, so steam takes over the whole room when you cook. Furniture is torn and really worn out, and the rest of the place feels just as basic. There was also a huge number of insects in the top bedroom, tucked away in the roof window. They came out whenever it was opened.

A ford about 200 yards away means you can only get in from one direction unless your vehicle has good clearance. Still, the cottage is wonderful, right near the river and woods, with all the comforts of home. A lovely spot to slow down, get away from the rat race and enjoy some peace and quiet. Bliss.

A great place for a large family or group, and the location is fantastic, really close to Tarr Steps.
