Robertson was a warm, friendly host, and the house has loads of character. Breakfast was delicious, and the room was comfortable. The Ferintosh was a great choice for us, with the train station nearby and the town an easy walk away. We were really pleased we picked it.

It’s on a busy road, but was surprisingly quiet, and I enjoyed watching people with a view of the railway station. The location is handy for visiting town. My room was warm, cozy and very clean, with everything supplied, including fluffy face towels and toiletries. Lovely hospitality from a marvellous host, and excellent breakfasts. A most enjoyable stay.

Robertson was extremely friendly and accommodating, and breakfast had plenty of delicious options. The location is perfect, right next to the train station. I stayed at the start of July and have booked again for the end of the month. It’s pet friendly and great value for money. Would definitely recommend.

The house has terrific Victorian charm, especially the carved crown moulding in the dining room. It’s right across from the train station, and the friendly host knows a lot about the area. My room was clean and well appointed, and breakfast was very good with several choices. Just be aware there are stairs, so it may not suit you if you can’t manage them.

I usually book hotels, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from a guest house, but this had everything we needed for a short stay in Dumfries.
