We felt so lucky to find Mabie House Hotel at the last minute. It's a gorgeous old place, really well kept inside and out, with lovely views across the forest and peaceful surroundings. Laura at the desk was superb, and our room was huge, very clean and had everything we needed. We had dinner there too, which was incredible, and Hazel and Sam looked after us so well. Breakfast the next morning was just as good, served by a lovely gentleman. My partner and I absolutely adored our stay and can't recommend it enough.

The hotel sits in its own beautiful grounds, with Mabie forest and the mountain bike trails right there. It's also a gateway to the Solway Firth coast. The countryside views are panoramic, and the home cooked food is lovely, served with a smile. The staff are wonderful and make you feel part of the family. Fantastic location.

We had breakfast and dinner on both evenings, and the food was excellent. The dining room felt cosy with its log burner, and there was a lovely sitting room with an open fire too. Even Bertie the parrot was fun to interact with. I stayed for a weekend in this peaceful spot, in a lovely traditional Georgian building. The room and bed were very comfortable, there was both a bath and a shower, and everything was very clean. A real gem. I could happily have stayed much longer, but had to get back to work.

We came back for another visit after falling for the place last year, and now we're making it an annual trip. After a run in Mabie forest, we checked in, had a hot shower and tucked into a beautiful burger. Breakfast was very tasty the next morning. The staff are lovely, though the parrot seemed to laugh at me when I pulled the door instead of pushing it!

On our way north to Scotland, we stayed the night here. The room was clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities and an iron with a mini board. We booked dinner, two starters and two mains with a J2O and two half pints of cider, for £63 altogether. We enjoyed the meal. Breakfast was included in the room and there was plenty to choose from. I'd recommend the hotel and book again.
