Dundee Backpackers Hostel

The hostel is very central, close to bus and train links and plenty of places to eat. Street noise was the only drawback when we were trying to sleep, but we all managed. We stayed one night with 17 schoolchildren, and the characterful building and comfortable rooms worked well for us. The shared bathrooms were clean and well stocked, and there was a clean TV room and dining room where we could relax in the evening. The communal kitchen had everything we needed. We’d recommend it for a short stay in Dundee.

I’ve stayed here twice now. It’s very clean and in a great location, less than a ten-minute walk from either the train station or the bus station.

I spent a week in a double room. There wasn’t a private bathroom, but the shared bathrooms and toilets were large, very clean and cleaned regularly. My room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely lighting. The whole hostel felt cosy, almost like home, and the large public area had everything and all the facilities I needed. My floor was quiet apart from some street noise, which was understandable in such a convenient, lively area. The staff were very kind, polite and helpful. A special thanks to Chris, who helped me sort out a personal problem. He was really kind!
