The menu calls it a light bite, but when I ordered a Steak Ciabatta with salad and extra triple cooked chips, the waitress said I couldn’t have chips because the ciabatta counted as a side. I changed to ordering it alone, then was told it would come on plain white bread instead. You can get a burger with chips, apparently, but not a steak Ciabatta. The whole thing reminded me of the Waldorf Salad episode of Fawlty Towers. I wasn’t especially hungry and just wanted chips on the side, but you can’t order them alone either. We had a reserved table and it was such a struggle just to order. Probably the worst pub service I’ve known. Never going back to the Fisherman's Tavern (Broughty Ferry), and I don’t recommend it.

We really liked our rooms, and the food downstairs in the Tavern was fantastic. The hotel is in a great part of Dundee and the rooms are nicely appointed. Helen was a big help with check-in and dinner. I’d highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.

A busy, lively pub with a great atmosphere, a good food selection and a handy location. The food is fun and inventive, and it’s a fantastic spot for real beer. It’s been in the CAMRA real ale guide for 30 years or more. Excellent hotel and pub.

We stayed for a week on a golf trip and couldn’t recommend the place more. The rooms, breakfast and staff were all fantastic. There’s free parking out front, a lovely harbour at the end of the street, and a great pub right there. It’s also a short walk to the decent little village shops.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the Scottish breakfast was excellent. Staff were competent. It’s about 20 minutes outside Dundee, near the water, and sits above a lively pub, so I’d bring earplugs.
