The Longforgan Coaching Inn

The staff were warm and welcoming, and the bar has plenty of drinks to choose from. The rooms are excellent, with comfortable beds, and the inn is far enough from the city to be very quiet. Dundee centre is only a 16 minute drive away, and being just off the A90 makes it easy to get elsewhere too. For breakfast, I'd recommend the full Scottish: porridge or cereal, then a fry-up with Haggis. Absolutely delicious. Would I come back? You better believe it 😉

We planned to stay one night, but the friendly locals and great staff made us extend it to three. Allister, the landlord, was so accommodating, nothing was a problem. The room was lovely and big, and even had a bath. We were invited to the New Year’s party too, which turned into an awesome night to remember. The kitchen was closed for NY, but Allister/Ovici still insisted on cooking us a lovely meal twice. Thanks so much, we'll definitely return when we're travelling again xxxx

The pub was nice and the food wasn't bad for the price, but the rooms were basic and due for a refurb. There was no mat in the shower, and my friend slipped and broke a rib. The bed was so uncomfortable I hardly slept. Breakfast felt overpriced. I won't be rushing back.

A biker's dream, with simple, characterful accommodation and rooms facing the courtyard where I could park my bike. It's away from the crowded tourist spots but still close enough. The Cairngorms are a 100 mile round trip, and I rode 220 miles all around them, so this hotel worked perfectly as a rest stop. The highlight was dinner in the connected pub and reception. The menu had a wide choice of British classics, and I was very satisfied.
