The garden was a lovely place to unwind on warm evenings, with a picnic bench for dinner and a cold beer. The house had everything my colleague and I needed for our four-night work stay, including two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which was really handy. Karen was warm and welcoming, waving hello in the mornings and greeting us in the evenings. We’d happily stay again and recommend it for the friendly welcome and consistently good service.

It’s easy to get into Bath without taking the car: the park and ride is only a short drive away, and the bus goes right into the city centre. Back at the house, the setting and views are lovely, and the room has everything arranged to make you feel at home. Karen is a wonderful host and happily adjusts the delicious English breakfast to suit what guests want, even if that means just having part of it. There’s fruit, juice, and cold cereal as well. I’d definitely recommend staying here and hope I can return.

My wife and I booked the Cosy Nest at The Lavender Cottage for a special occasion, and we were surprised to be its first guests. The cottage and its surroundings have so much character. We’ve travelled widely, and this is honestly the loveliest place I’ve had the pleasure of staying. It feels like a special find, even if the reviews have already let people in on it. Karen was welcoming and thoughtful, and clearly wanted us to feel at home. The little gestures she didn’t have to make really added to the stay. She’s also put together a cupboard of books full of ideas for places to go, eat, and walk. There’s plenty there to keep you reading, along with a TV, DVDs, and games in the quaint room. There’s far too much good to say for one review. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We’d love to come back with a larger group and try The Snug in the summer. Thanks, Karen, for a stay that went well beyond what I expected.

Just 12 minutes from Bath, with easy access and beautiful scenery, this cottage is a must-see. The place itself is stunning, the garden took my breath away, and the host was lovely.

I had a wonderful week here and felt very comfortable throughout. Karen was a fantastic host, always helpful, especially with suggestions for things to do in Bath. I’d recommend the place without hesitation. If I could rate it above five stars, I’d give it ten. Thank you, Karen!
