The Swan Inn

We were a group of seven and every one of us enjoyed the generous portions and delicious food. The service was friendly, professional and efficient. It’s a little way off the main road, which may suit local people, and parking was limited, though we found a spot a few minutes’ walk away. Neither point was really a problem.

The meal was just pub-standard food, and the bar area was packed with people drinking. We were put there because the couple we came with had a dog, and ended up squeezed into a corner with people all around us.

The roast was very nice, and I’ll definitely have it again soon. We went for Sunday lunch with family on a clearly busy day, but the waitresses welcomed us warmly. One young woman warned us there might be a short wait and offered us drinks while we waited.

The food was amazing, and everywhere else was clean, but the baby changing setup was poor. We were led upstairs to the laundry room, where a baby mat was left on the side, usually covered in leaves and mess. Service was extremely slow too. We spent over two hours waiting just for starters and a main, and by the time the food arrived our Abby was bored and irritated. We couldn’t enjoy the meal and left most of it. The two stars are for the food and the cleanliness everywhere except the baby changing area. Don’t go with babies.
