The bed was comfortable, the shower was roomy with plenty of hot water, and I slept really well. I also enjoyed breakfast and having tea-making facilities in the room. It’s a great B&B close to the town centre, and I’d happily come back.

The owners were very accommodating, breakfast was great, and everything was spotless. My room was huge and comfortable, with all I needed, and it felt like very good value. It was just the right temperature and so quiet it was almost unnerving. I was impressed as soon as I arrived, and I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in Durham.

The breakfast had a generous range of good-quality options, and the hot chocolate was the best I’ve had in ages. There was also plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Everything was very clean, with quality furniture, excellent linens and an incredibly comfortable bed. It’s a great location, about a 10-minute walk from the castle 🏰. We came early in the week, so it was quiet, and the pub across the road was closed then 🍻. Parking was free with a 3-hour permit, and free from 6pm to 8am 🚗💨. Highly recommend!

The breakfast was lovingly prepared, and the personal service made the stay feel special. We had a great view from this well-located hotel. The room was stylish and spotless, with a modern bathroom and a really comfortable bed.

The location worked really well for me, about five minutes on foot from the market and maybe seven from the cathedral. I thought the price was reasonable, and I’d come back. I was here for three nights in October on a solo trip. The room was spacious, clean and modern, with a cosy, homely feel. The bed was comfortable and the TV was good. I noticed a few tiny mold spots in the corner of the wall, visible only with the main lights on. It didn’t bother me, though I know some people who are very particular about cleanliness might not like it. The bathroom looked recently renovated and was lovely and clean, with no dirt or mold. The shower was roomy and powerful. There was, though, a noticeable dip in the floor near the shower, which seemed like subsidence. It wasn’t a problem for me, but someone older or less steady could twist an ankle or slip if they didn’t notice it or weren’t careful. Both breakfasts I had were fantastic. On the first morning I ordered poached eggs on toast. The whites were set, the yolks runny, and the eggs were a deep orange and tasted great. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal, tea and coffee were also available. Maybe it’s the northern water, but the tea was amazing, and the staff were great too. The next time I had the full English. It was a good size, everything was nicely cooked, and the meat was high quality, no cheap sausages. Toast came with it and it went down a treat. I would have liked the bacon a bit more browned, though I understand it may be cooked in the oven for speed and convenience. Beans as an option instead of tomatoes would be nice too, but I can see that could slow things down.
