The Nags Head

The roast dinner was amazing, and our table of seven had everything we could possibly want. I was so full that, for the first time in my life, I didn’t order dessert! I did try a bite of someone else’s, though, and it was delightful.

The food was delicious, and the young women serving us were pleasant. The venue was clean and bright. But we were celebrating a birthday over Sunday lunch with friends, and it was disappointing to be asked to move tables after just an hour and 15 minutes because the table was needed for the next party. It interrupted us before we could finish our wine and enjoy dessert. The food was definitely worth five stars, but that disruption brings it down to four for me. We would return. Rant over...

Six of us had an excellent Sunday lunch, with friendly staff and fresh vegetables cooked just right. My pork was delicious, and my friends’ beef was just as good. We’ll certainly return.

It was a short, comfortable stay in a quiet area. The room was fairly simple but nicely done and as described. The staff were very friendly and kindly put together a breakfast bag for my early departure. I really appreciated the excellent tea and coffee in the room. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, though it looked good, and the Greene King beer I had was well kept. A good option.
