Imperial Hotel

The evening meal was such a letdown. Three slices of sandwich ham covered in gravy aren't honey-roast gammon, the roast potatoes were hard and awful, and the garlic mushrooms turned out to be three button mushrooms floating in some tasteless goo. I've been with Daish before and have never had food like this or needed to complain, so I'm very disappointed in the main dinners. I'm booked to come back at Easter and hope things improve. It's a lovely hotel, which makes this a real shame. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, the location was great, and the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was very good and the waiters efficient. Otherwise, I can't fault the hotel.

Just got home after five nights and everything was amazing. The rooms were clean, the food outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond. It's the best hotel stay I've ever had. I'd recommend it completely, and we're even thinking of a summer break there. We'll definitely be back.

We had good weather during our first Daish's trip, four days and three nights at The Imperial Hotel, and it was only a short walk to the Eastbourne seafront. Our coach driver was very professional, friendly and helpful with everyone. The staff, from reception to the dining room, were helpful and friendly too, and the full-board food was excellent. We found three sittings a day a bit much, even after cutting lunch down to one course. Evening entertainment was good, with a couple of bingo games and live music by a different performer each night. It seemed suited to the age group and guests enjoyed it. The room was clean, though a little dated and tired, with tea and coffee facilities and a TV. There wasn't a grab handle by the bath to help getting in and out for a shower. People we spoke with liked the hotel and praised its staff and amenities.

The hotel is right by the seafront, and parking permits are very cheap, with Sunday parking free. Staff were friendly and helpful, the food was reasonable for the price, and there was evening entertainment. We didn't like the lifts, so used the stairs. Our front room got some road noise, and two noisy neighbours stayed up late and banged about early. Sound insulation isn't great. Still, for the price, I can't complain.
