DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol South - Cadbury House

I’d stay here again. The room was comfortable, clean, and had what I needed, and the staff were welcoming when I checked in. The view was a fun surprise: you can watch planes arriving and leaving, which made the visit even better. A great stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Bristol, with a comfortable feel and a view I didn’t expect.

We chose this hotel for the night before our honeymoon, since our flight the next day was only 15 minutes away. It was quiet, clean, open and spacious, with hotel facilities and events including weddings. The rooms were roomy and tidy, and I liked being able to open the windows and have a bath. The spa and gym are a short walk away; the walks around the fort are lovely, with amazing views. We had dinner and drinks at Marco Pierre’s restaurant. It was quiet and relaxed, the food was tasty, and I had chicken while my husband chose the ribeye steak. I’d asked for a booth because of my anxiety about eating out, and they seated us there. We had 2-for-1 cocktails at the bar and chatted with Charlotte, who was lovely and made such good passion fruit martinis that we had three, then we had another drink with dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful, and especially lovely and excited for us about our pre-honeymoon. Five out of five for the service from Charlotte at the bar, Elizabeth our waitress, Kayleigh who seated us and was later at reception, and Sabrina the receptionist. We’d return in the future.

We got a lovely, spacious room with great views after an upgrade as Gold members. The spa was enjoyable too: a large pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, and as Hilton guests we could use the facilities at no cost. The spa provided towels and padlocks on entry; we just showed our Hilton room cards. It’s about a two-minute walk from the hotel, where we stayed for one night for my wife’s birthday, and I’d booked her a massage. Hilton’s service was great. Parking cost £12, and we parked first, then registered at check-in so reception could add the charge. A really good experience all around, thank you team.

The setting at Cadbury House had a lovely atmosphere and really added to our event. The food and drinks went down very well with our guests, and everything was arranged just right. We had a wonderful events evening there on Friday 9th January. The team were welcoming, attentive and professional, and the organisation ran smoothly from beginning to end. Thanks to everyone at Cadbury House for making it such a success. We’d happily return and would recommend it as an events venue.
