The Sun Inn

Dinner in the bar was all cooked to order, absolutely fabulous, and the portions were so generous we couldn’t finish everything. Breakfast was just as good, freshly cooked to order and so, so yummy. We got a warm welcome from the landlord and landlady, and the lovely people there couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was beautiful and cosy, with a very comfortable bed. It’s a proper country pub with a bed and breakfast, and even an open fire. If you’re nearby, drop in. We plan to come back and can’t recommend it enough!

We stayed one night on July 9th 2018 for a graduation. Tricia and Mark were wonderful hosts, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed. The shared facilities were no problem for us. We enjoyed the continental breakfast. The pub was traditional, though renovations were still underway. I’d have given it five stars once the work was finished. It’s a shame we’re unlikely to be back in that area, as we’d have liked to stay again and try the cooked food after the kitchen re-opens. Patricia (known as Joan) and Bill.

We paid £70 for one night, then found the room dirty and the bathroom and toilet were shared with everyone else. An hour after paying, we asked for our money back because we didn’t want to stay, but they refused to refund anything. The barmaid and cleaner talked behind our backs because we’d asked for a refund, and the place felt completely unfriendly. A woman leaving had told us “good luck” on our way in. We didn’t think much of it then, but wish we had. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Avoid it.

We waited an incredibly long time for the food, and when it finally came the portions were small, poor quality and badly cooked frozen food. The prices were quite high, so we’d expected decent cooking and generous servings. It wasn’t worth even half what they charged. Worst pub meal we’ve ever had. Avoid this place!
