The snowdrops at Chippenham Park look like carpets, absolutely beautiful. There’s a great cafe too, but it only takes cash. Entry is £10 per person, cash only, and it’s well worth going. The park is open until 1 April, with other opening dates during the year listed on its website. There’s so much lovely nature to see, including snowdrops, crocus, irises, hellebores, and daphnes.

Bring cash for the entrance fee, and for the good little cafe as well, which only takes cash. Parking is easy, and dogs are allowed on leads. You can easily spend a whole day at this lovely private estate. There’s plenty to see, with green, peaceful spots to sit and reflect, plus lakes, paths, and trees in beautiful autumn colour.

A lovely couple of hours at a beautiful garden, and the entrance fee was well worth it.

The little café had a good range of cakes to enjoy with a cup of tea. Service was good, and there was plenty of seating. The garden is lovely to walk around, especially in spring, when the Anglo Dutch gardens are just starting to bloom. There are great views over the waterways and lots of interesting sculptures scattered around.

The gardens were gorgeous, with stunning snowdrops, mini irises, other flowers, and quirky sculptures. Before we went in, the friendly woman at the entrance pointed out some of the garden’s highlights. We stopped at the cafe for a delicious hot dog that was anything but average. February can be so grey, so this made for a lovely treat. Just bring cash for entry and food.
