Ardhasaig House

Katie was a perfect host, and the meal was excellent. My husband and I had a wonderful trip for our 30th wedding anniversary. A huge thank you to Katie, Liz, John and all the ladies who help run the Ardhasaig House. We had a wonderful stay!

We spent two nights at Katie’s lovely hotel in August 2025. Our spacious, comfortable room was at the front, with great sea views. Before dinner we sat on the bench out front in the sunshine with a drink. Dinner was delicious, and the wine suggestions were excellent. Breakfast was wonderful too, with plenty of fruit, yoghurt and granola. I especially liked the Stornoway back pudding. Katie also suggested visiting Hushinish and Luskentyre beaches, and both were breathtaking. We had a fantastic time and would love to return.

Breakfast was the standout for me: generous, well cooked and really good. The bedroom was comfortable, and the en suite was basic rather than luxurious, but it suited my needs. Dinner at the hotel was pleasant enough, though £70 for three courses and a gin and tonic seemed too much for what we got. The atmosphere fell short. Nobody was rude, but things felt frosty and not very welcoming or personal. The property is well appointed and has plenty of potential. A bit more attention and genuine friendliness would make the stay much more enjoyable.

We only had one night and really wished we could stay longer. Katie and her team were wonderful, going out of their way to make the stay feel perfect. The food was the highlight, with inventive dinners made from classic ingredients and the best breakfast ever. Thank you so much x
