Premier Inn Evesham

The room was tidy, the shower was good and the beds were comfortable. There’s plenty of parking, a good location and a good choice of breakfast nearby. But the air conditioning blew hot air even when set to 19°c cool. At one point the room reached 30°c, and I couldn’t sleep. The loo extractor fans weren’t working either, and unfortunately the staff couldn’t help. The place is still being developed, so if those problems get fixed, it could be good value for a night or two.

It’s conveniently set by a main road and next to a petrol station, but was surprisingly quiet and comfortable. There’s no self check-in, though the reception team were friendly and helpful. We were only there for one night while visiting relatives nearby, and would happily stay again.

Our room had been refurbished and was very nice, and the staff were excellent and did all they could. They brought us a heater, but we still had no hot water, and there was no heating. It seems the electricity had been cut off and reconnected on the day we arrived.

The staff and the bed were lovely, which made this especially disappointing. We usually stay at Premier Inn, but the smell here was disgusting. Going up the stairs, we were hit by a musty, wet dog smell along the corridor. Room 136 was at the end, and inside it smelled of sick. The windows had been left open, but the smell was still horrendous. I called reception and was told the carpets had been sprayed with something and were going to be taken up. Then I heard a generator outside starting every 15 minutes for what I think was five minutes. I couldn’t close the window because of the smell. Such a shame, as we like Premier Inn, but we’ll call to check whether this has been sorted before booking Evesham again.
