Ewenny Farm Guesthouse

The day before I was due to travel for the Dragon Ride cycling event, I was told my booking wasn’t confirmed and there was no room for me. I’d booked months earlier, in February, and had an email confirming the reservation. When I asked how this could happen, they were rude and the owner hung up on me. I’d also emailed earlier to ask whether breakfast was included. Jodi checked my booking and said it wasn’t, which was fair enough. The customer service was shocking. Don’t book expecting your reservation to be honoured. I can’t recommend this place. Go elsewhere unless you want stress and anxiety just before a holiday or local event.

We were sorry to leave and would have happily stayed a few more nights. The room and location were superb, and Jodi was fantastic. A big thank you to her and everyone at Ewenny Farm House. We’ll be back very soon.

We booked Ewenny a year ahead for our small bridal party and made it clear we were getting married at Cobbles. A few months before the wedding, we visited to check that everything was in hand and mentioned the wedding again, as emails kept going unanswered. In person, our host made me feel like I was a bother. The room we got was mediocre and didn’t have the same facilities as our guests’ rooms. There was no special touch for us as the Bride and Groom. I’m not a bridezilla, I just hoped for a little care on a once in a lifetime day, and the indifference made me sad. I understand the host had been ill and I do feel for him. He seemed out of it, but I still wish we’d booked somewhere else. It took the shine off our wedding. The stay was disappointing, especially since we chose the place for its good rating and because it was close to Cobbles. I wouldn’t recommend making the same choice, as it could spoil your big day. I believe the host needs to close the business if he can’t provide customer care. A customer facing business needs to offer a basic level of service and communication.

The guest house was quiet even though it was busy. Friendly staff, and the breakfast food and ingredients were good quality. I’d recommend it and will again when I’m next in the area. Thank you.
