Brook Farmhouse

Brook Farmhouse is a fantastic spot, only five minutes off the A30 but a world away from traffic and noise. Penny takes great care of you, and there are Labradors to fuss over too. What more could you want? If you can think of something, I'm sure Brook Farmhouse would provide it.

Penny was a super-friendly host, and even dropped me off nearby so I could collect my car. My wife and I stayed with our three daughters for a wedding, and Penny set up an extra bed in one of the rooms so we could all fit. We loved the beautiful dogs too. The farmhouse feels authentic, lovingly presented and beautifully kept, right in stunning Devonshire countryside. We were welcomed with an open fireplace and homemade brownies, and there was shortbread in our room. The breakfast was amazing, the homemade apple juice and marmalade were the best we'd tasted, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Everything about our stay was perfect. Can't fault it. We'll be back.

The hosts were lovely, and breakfast was great. The room was small but comfortable, though we had a bit of trouble with the stairs. We missed the cottage twice, so it could use a bigger sign. The single country lane may also be difficult if you're not used to those roads. Still, it was a nice stay overall.

Charming Devon country lanes lead to a perfect escape, with sweeping countryside views and plenty of wildlife. Penny was full of helpful suggestions and local knowledge. There were fresh flowers and fruit in our room, and having our own sitting room and fireside was bliss. The home produce was lovely too, especially the delicious apple juice, preserves, shortbread and cake. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here.
