The twin bedroom had no lamps, which made things really difficult at night. I slept there with my 11-week-old because the cot wouldn’t fit in our room, so we pushed the beds together and co-slept. I didn’t want to leave her in the kitchen and living area. They kindly refunded the £10 cot charge. There were no frying pans either, and the radiators were so dirty I didn’t want to put clothes on them. Even so, we all had a lovely week in the Dart caravans with our baby and dog. There isn’t much immediately around, but there are definitely trips to take and more to do than you’d think. The entertainment was great, with something always on, and the indoor pool was clean and great. We were gutted it wasn’t warm enough to use the outdoor pool, which looks fab, so we’ll come back next summer for that. Our static caravan was spacious, with lots of clothes storage and even a walk-in wardrobe. The fridge and freezer were big enough for a full food shop. The speakers were handy to connect to, and the dishwasher helped a lot. They left some dishwasher tablets too, though we’d brought our own. There was also a little dog basket with blankets, poo bags and a dog bed, which was a lovely gesture.

We often come here with family for food and a drink, and it’s a lovely place to visit if you’re in the area. A great holiday park, the best in Dawlish. It’s clean, modern and lovely, and you could be anywhere on holiday here. There are indoor and outdoor pools, which need to be booked, an outdoor splash area and indoor and outdoor play areas. It’s a camping, lodge and caravan park, with no hotel. Well worth a visit.

Cofton has plenty for couples and families, including a takeaway, restaurant, pubs and swimming pool. There’s also a bus stop right outside the entrance, and we took it over to Exeter. This was my second stay. There’s building work going on at the moment, but it’s organised so well that it didn’t affect our stay at all. The staff at check-in were very friendly, and the site was incredibly clean and tidy. We had a superior pitch this time. It was spacious, well laid out and worth every penny.

The park is quite nice and the staff are friendly, but I’ve never stayed at a site where you pay extra each visit for the indoor pool, and then pay again to use the gym, sauna and steam room. The caravan was missing some kitchen equipment, and one of the gas control knobs was broken and fell off, so we had to eat out most of the time. As with most sites, prices are high. I wouldn’t go back. There are better sites where you don’t have to pay to use the indoor pool or gym. If I’d seen information about those extra charges, I wouldn’t have booked this time.

The adult evening entertainment was fantastic and a real highlight. The children’s entertainment was a letdown, though. I appreciate the effort that goes into it, but it felt too pushy, with us being urged onto the dance floor every other song when we were on holiday to relax. The same children seemed to get picked for games repeatedly. Our daughter waited twice and wasn’t chosen, which was disheartening. A little more fairness and variety would help. We had a lovely week on a serviced pitch. The site was clean and well kept, and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Toilet blocks and showers were spotless, though the showers were a bit hit and miss, some ran longer than others, and a few locks were stiff. Setting up the electricity through the app was a faff at first, but once I got the hang of it I could manage confidently. We were surprised to find the indoor pool cost extra. We understand needing to book, but with the site already expensive, paying again felt like a bit much. We really enjoyed our stay, but next time we’d probably come for a couple of nights rather than using it as a base for the whole week, then spend the savings exploring more of the beautiful coastline.
