We spent five nights in this lovely shepherd’s hut and really enjoyed it. It stands by itself in a field, and if you get lucky, you might spot deer. There’s everything you need, plus cupboard space under the bed for big holdalls. I managed to fit my smallish suitcase, bigger than plane hand luggage, in there too. The shower had good pressure. We ate out at The Church House Inn in Stokeinteignhead, a lovely little village, and had Sunday lunch at The Mason’s Arms in Branscombe while we were already out for the day or heading back. We recommend both.

We had a long weekend at Crannaford shepherd’s hut in mid July as a second honeymoon, and I’d go back in a heartbeat. The grounds are massive and there’s room to play golf. We saw an incredible number of shooting stars while we were there. The hosts are welcoming without getting in your way, and the hut has everything you need and more. The Jack in the Green pub is worth a visit for a meal. One bit of advice if you’re staying longer than a weekend: there isn’t room for luggage in the hut, so if you drive, expect to go back and forth to the car.

We chose this apartment for its high ratings and for being handy to the nearby villages we wanted to visit. Exeter was a bonus, and we enjoyed seeing the cathedral and quay. The place is comfortable, with enough off-street parking, and the hosts are great. It sits just far enough out of town to be quiet. There’s a food co-op a little over a mile away.

We really didn't want to leave this amazing little hut. It's private and peaceful, with beautiful views, and has everything you need. The hosts were so helpful but never intrusive. We'll be booking again soon.
