The roast was the best I’ve had in a long time, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu had something for all tastes, and the staff were welcoming and knew their way around the menu and dietary requirements. The Inn itself is a lovely traditional building, and the whole visit was excellent. I can’t wait to return. If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth a visit, but book a table or you may be disappointed.

A cosy place for a relaxed drink or meal, especially on a cold day when the wood fire is going. There’s a big garden full of flowers and plenty of seats. The food is made with local produce, the service is excellent, and the pub is full of history and character. The loveliest pub in Devon.

The meal was lovely, but we were told halfway through dessert that we had only 15 minutes left at the table. Luckily we’d ordered just mains and dessert, with no starter. That time limit spoiled what would otherwise have been a nice dining experience. It’s a beautiful old-world inn, with amazing food, very polite staff and excellent service. They don’t have a children’s menu, but smaller portions are available at a lower price.

A proper homemade steak and ale pie, with delicious gravy and buttered greens, made for a fabulous lunch. The Jail Ale was conditioned just right, which really added to the taste and the experience. The woman behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. An amazing visit, thank you.

Hughy made us and my dog feel so welcome, and helped make lunch unforgettable. The pub is gorgeous and authentic, with a cosy atmosphere and a lovely roaring fire. There’s a great choice of food and ales, and everything felt made with care. Superb service and a lovely lunch. Thank you!
