Even on a wet evening in February, we were able to book the early dinner option at fairly short notice. From the moment we arrived, we felt looked after. The menu was a real treat and great value. We had a fabulous evening and hope to return in summer for a different experience.

The portions of the main course could be a little bigger for someone with a hearty appetite. The price reflects the care and work that goes into each dish, though, and the four courses won't leave you too full for a romantic evening afterwards. I went with friends for lunch and was amazed by the attention given to every course. The food was beautifully presented and cooked, and the service was excellent. A lovely choice for anyone who's tried it all.

After lunch, I had a peaceful coffee by the fire in the lounge, which was a real joy. I especially appreciated the lift back to the car in the rain. The lunch itself was a treat too, with great service, fabulous food, and intense flavours and little details that set it apart from most places.

We were made to feel comfortable throughout our stay, thanks to the friendly, professional, well-trained team. The rooms were comfortable, the beds were good, and there was nice artwork everywhere. The location was good, with an incredible view and a wine yard to walk around. The restaurant, food, wine, menu, and service were all amazingly good. Two small things could be improved. When it rains, drops hit the plastic balcony door cover and make quite a noise. A small visor above the doors could make them land on stone instead. Also, the hot water from the taps gets very hot straight away, so a warning would be useful.
