The breakfast was excellent, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the hotel views were amazing. Every member of staff was great and very helpful. The pool was a fantastic bonus, with lots of time to use it, and the kids loved it. The sea is only a few minutes away, while the town is about a 20 minute walk. The building does need updating, but with plans on the horizon you can’t really expect that to happen just yet. It’s a great building in a lovely area, and we’d definitely stay again.

Charlotte and Jamie were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. From the start, all the staff were amazing in helping organise our wedding reception, and their help and input went above and beyond. The other staff were fabulous with our guests too. Thank you for being part of our special day 😊

We’ve stayed at the Devoncourt several times over the last couple of years, and the service has been exemplary every time. The receptionists and other staff go far beyond what’s expected for their guests. I don’t think I’ve ever been so moved by a place. Weather permitting, you wake up to a sunrise over the sea. The gardens are stunningly kept and back onto the seafront. Truly a lovely place to stay.

My elderly aunt had to leave her seafront home because of the bomb. From my first call to the Devoncourt, the staff were so helpful. When more evacuees arrived, the reception team made sure my aunt didn’t have to change rooms, and they brought food to her room at no extra charge. Her room was a little outdated, but it was large and had everything she needed, with an amazing view. The price was very reasonable. Thank you all so much. You must have worked so hard once all the evacuees were in.

The view was amazing, which made the state of the place all the more disappointing. The room was clean, but nearly everything seemed to be broken and badly in need of maintenance. Both showers were awful, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the bed gave me the worst night’s sleep I’ve had in years. The electrics were so dodgy that my hair dryer blew up. We’d been looking forward to a weekend away, and the location was perfect, but I’m sorry to say we won’t be back.
