Plas Y Dderwen Bed and Breakfast

For four wonderful nights in July, we stayed in this beautiful house to celebrate our belated 40th anniversary. Caryl greeted us with flowers and chocolates, and was so kind, helpful and caring that it felt like visiting family. Our suite was quiet, spotless and comfortable, with peaceful fields and lovely views from the front window. Each morning Caryl made us a varied breakfast. When we had an early start for zip lining, she packed a basket with fruit, muffins, bottled water and Yakult drinks for the trip. This is one of the best B&Bs I've stayed at in Wales, and I hope we'll return many times. Thank you, Caryl.

Just outside town, the location is really convenient. Caryl was an excellent host, and the breakfast she cooked was generous and satisfying. Inside, the place was spotless, and I was taken with the lovely staircase as soon as I arrived. The beds suited me perfectly, and I had one of the best night's sleep I've had in ages.

The views were amazing, and getting by car to the town centre and local beach was easy. My family, including the grandparents, stayed in the self-catering cottage and apartment. They were both clean, modern and stylish, and my three teenagers were pleased to have free WiFi.

We've stayed with Caryl six times, I believe, and the standard has been exceptional each time. The accommodation is beautiful and spotless, and the fresh breakfast is served in a lovely dining room by a friendly, lively host. We come to Aberystweth twice a year and wouldn't consider staying elsewhere. If you expect high standards, choose Plas Y Dderwen. You won't be disappointed.
