Lonsdale Hotel - Guest House

We had a lovely three-day stay. We got there two hours before check-in, but they let us into the room early. It was lovely, though the bathroom was a little dated but fine. Breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. Great location too. I’d definitely stay again.

The comfy bed, good breakfast, location and staff made for a lovely stay, even though some parts of the hotel felt a little dated. Our dog was made very welcome and even got a sausage at breakfast :) Thanks for a lovely visit. I’d definitely stay again! 😊

The staff were absolutely amazing, helpful, polite and caring. The breakfast was nice too, though my daughter found a hair in it on our last day. The room was dim, and having the four-poster bed directly beneath the light didn’t help. The sink was in the bedroom, which felt unhygienic after using the toilet. We booked a deluxe room, but the only good thing about it was the view. At six feet tall, I struggled with the tiny 2-by-2-foot shower. It had mould and cracked tiles. We ran out of toilet paper on the final morning, but luckily I had tissues. I doubt housekeeping changed our sheets while we were there, and I’m sure they didn’t vacuum every day either. In my opinion, this wasn’t a four-star hotel, three stars would be fair.

We stayed for three nights two weeks ago and loved it so much that we’ve booked again for November 2024. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise, and all the bedrooms were spacious with en suite bathrooms. The bar was great fun, especially for the grandchildren, who loved serving us drinks. The location between Bowness and Windermere is great. Highly recommend.
