Hotel Cladhan

The exterior gave us the wrong impression; we had a great stay. Our room was huge and the staff were helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, with amazing service, and breakfast the next morning was great too. The service there was fabulous as well. I’d recommend staying here.

We booked the hotel for Sunday evening dinner and found the menu had plenty of choice. Three courses for £12 or two for £10 was excellent value. As someone with coeliac disease, I appreciated that they could adapt dishes to suit me. The chocolate fudge cake was lovely, and the staff were polite, friendly and efficient. A good meal all round 🍴

The rooms and breakfast are great value, and the staff are always warm and friendly. The owner should be proud of them. In the restaurant, the food is fresh, hot, hearty pub fare, and I’ve never had a bad meal. It’s always good value whether you eat there or stay over. Thanks again, staff, you’re doing a great job, so don’t change!

Our family of 20 came for Christmas Day, and it was a really disappointing experience. It took 2.5 hours for our main courses to arrive. When we mentioned the wait, the waitress asked one of our family members if they had ever worked in a kitchen. That response was highly unprofessional. We were also told that later seated tables were served sooner because they were easier to manage. Christmas Day can be challenging, but if large groups can’t be handled, the booking shouldn’t be accepted. The food was mediocre at best throughout, and the service was unacceptable. It ruined an afternoon on a rare occasion when our whole family could be together. I wouldn’t choose this hotel for dining or a stay in future, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. This is the first time I’ve ever reviewed a hotel or restaurant, but the experience was so poor I felt I had to. The staff need serious training and a better attitude.
