Through The Porthole

Room 4 was stunning, with a huge comfortable bed, lovely sea views, plenty of facilities and a vintage style. The bathroom was spacious and had a really deep bath that filled quickly. There was also a welcome pack with biscuits, a coffee machine and Cornish mineral water. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was rocking when we arrived. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and piping hot, with proper bacon and sausage, a vegetarian option, and hot and cold drinks. The location is perfect, just a short walk down to the main strip. I'd definitely stay again.

That Bloody Mary was delicious, and at £8.50 it hit the spot 😋🍹🎃. I hadn’t been back to this pub for a few years, so the renovation was a lovely surprise. It feels really cozy now.

Make sure you head up the steps! It looks amazing, the prices are good, and the people are down to earth. So far, it’s my favourite pub in Cornwall and Devon.

The breakfast was really good, and the welcome from the staff was friendly and efficient. We stayed in an ensuite room upstairs, and the room was much better than I’d expected: spotless, seemingly new, nicely decorated, and finished to a high standard. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom spacious, and the sea view from our room was a bonus. The pub below has a cozy, old-fashioned feel. The kitchen shuts at eight, which was a little inconvenient, though I understand why they don’t stay open later. There are nearby places serving food, but they only serve until nine. We had a really great stay and would happily come back.
