This was easily the best lodge we've stayed in, and we had a fantastic weekend. It slept six, with great bedrooms, loads of closet space, a huge lounge and kitchen, plenty of outdoor seating, and a spacious hot tub. The scenery and weather were fantastic too. I'd highly recommend the streaker lodges. A couple of things let it down. The grass had been cut and left messy, so we couldn't really use the area. The lodge has a glass front, and the inside got greenhouse hot. We went to get the patio keys from the safe lock, but they weren't there, which was disappointing. Pack plenty of provisions, as there's very little available locally.

Fantastic place. The fresh air is exhilarating, hard to describe unless you experience it for yourself. In warmer weather, they also have activities designed to help disabled people have fun. Amazing.

The McCardle made for a good weekend, and the Smart TV issue was sorted quickly after we called reception. The built in hoist over the bed is brilliant. My one concern as a hoist user is the bed: it's a low double, which made dressing and undressing on it very difficult for me and my carers. Raising it, or having a profile bed or one that can move up and down, would make the McCardle perfect for people with more physical disabilities. Thanks, Judy.

The Calvert trust, kielder has great activities, lovely friendly staff, and a beautiful building in a fantastic location. It's available to everyone and inclusive for all abilities and disabilities. Definitely going back, just checking dates and availability. 😊😍👌

We booked The Mcardle lodge for three nights over the Kielder Marathon weekend, the first weekend in October. It's a lovely lodge in a beautiful spot. But the hot tub wasn't working, and neither was the heating. The hot tub was the main reason we chose this lodge, so that was very disappointing.
