Mollie's Oxford

The food arrived just as it should, hot dishes hot and cold dishes cold. It looked great and tasted really good. Our expectations for Mollie's diner and menu were met. Benji deserves a mention for patiently handling our custom requests and making sure we were looked after. When I offered to round up the bill as a tip, he politely pointed out that a service charge was already included. A lovely, humble young man and a credit to the organization.

The diner has a relaxed feel and clean facilities, and we’ve had one lovely server on our two visits. Still, both times there was a problem with the order, so I’m unsure we’ll be back soon. On the first visit, I was brought the wrong meal. The server said the kitchen had told them to bring it, so I accepted it to avoid a fuss. The bill then charged us for what I’d originally ordered, but they corrected that quickly. They should have checked the order when we queried it, especially for anyone with allergies or dietary needs. On visit two, I got the right meal, but the vegetarian breakfast came without the veggie sausages listed on the menu. That makes it £11 without eggs, or £2 extra with them. For value, I’d suggest the breakfast bun instead. Someone else at our table was also missing an item. Maybe we were just unlucky.

The rooms had a lovely look, with a mid-century style in the motel, and the tucked-away location felt pleasantly rural. We really enjoyed the diner, eating there on both days of our stay. Keira K served us each time, and seeing the same familiar face made us feel welcome and cared for. A really nice stay.

The Diner was a highlight, with great food, a terrific vibe, and genuine, excellent service. Rodney and the team looked after us so kindly and really made the stay. Our room was modern, spacious, and super clean, with thoughtful little details and all the mod cons. The shower was the best I’ve had. You can see how much pride the staff take in the place. Brilliant stay at Mollies, and we’ll definitely see you again. Thanks so much, everyone! :)
