After a hot day walking the Ridgeway, I found the room a comfortable, very clean place to unwind. It was in an annexe beside The White Horse, where I spent the night. Thursday was pizza night, with huge, absolutely delicious pizzas cooked in a genuine wood-fired oven. Breakfast the next morning was delicious too, and the landlord and staff were all welcoming and friendly. Recommended.

After visiting the white horse, we stopped in for lunch. The staff were really welcoming, and the home-cooked food was delicious, with good choices for kids too. A cracking pub, highly recommend it.

We stayed one night as two couples, and the hosts and staff were all very helpful. The rooms were warm, clean and tidy, the beds comfortable, and the showers worked well with no trouble getting the water temperature right. The towels were first class. The pub's low ceilings, stone slabs and log fires were just our kind of place, with a good choice of beers. There's also a garden at the back. We liked the menu, which had more to offer than standard pub food, and breakfast was very good too. It's well placed for walks to the Ridgeway and the White Horse. There’s a large free car park opposite.

The service was great, and the food showed real care in both the ingredients and the cooking. I had the Sunday pork roast followed by the crumble of the day, and really enjoyed it. Lovely little pub. I’d gladly make the trip back.

Even with the place fairly busy, service was quick and the staff were great. The Sunday roast was lovely. I'll be back.
