Mercure Farnham Bush Hotel

The staff were the best part, friendly and kind, and always glad to help. The hotel was calm and welcoming, with no sense of noise despite being right beside the lovely little high street. There’s a park nearby, the rail station isn’t far, and the hotel car park was useful. I had a great stay.

Hannah and Francesco guided us through the planning at every stage, and the anniversary lunch for 30 guests was a great success. The food, service, preparations, and provisions all exceeded what we expected. Staff were thoughtful, charming, polite, and friendly throughout. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the venue.

Hannah and the team took the stress out of a very emotional day. They quietly kept the food replenished, and Hannah checked in with us to see that everything was all right. Having a bar available was useful for guests who wanted something stronger, and many did. The Oak Lounge and afternoon tea at The Bush Hotel made a fitting tribute to a much-loved, refined lady. We held a celebration of my mother-in-law’s life after her funeral at St Thomas’ church in the Bourne on Wednesday 15th October 2025. Beforehand, we met Hannah and Megan and chose the welcoming, comfortable Oak Lounge for around 45 people, with the Afternoon Tea menu. Staff took coats and showed guests to the room when we arrived. Everything was arranged as requested, and the teas, coffees, and food were excellent. Guests praised the delicious sandwiches, warm scones, and cakes. We had to estimate attendance, but there was plenty to go round, and takeaway boxes meant the remaining food quickly found takers for the journeys home.

Farnham was a pleasant surprise, with loads of great little shops, and I’ll be back. I stayed two nights for a family event at the hotel. The venue was beautiful, the food amazing, and the staff fantastic.
