Tataki Hotel

The staff were so helpful and sweet, especially receptionist Liam, who went the extra mile to help and meet our needs. We felt welcome and at home, even at Christmas. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a mattress that was exceptionally comfortable. The blackout curtains made for a lovely lie-in, and you can barely hear the road outside.

There’s good free parking, and McDonald's and Sainsbury's are just across the road. We got a lovely, friendly welcome, and the rooms were clean. The fans came in handy. We stay at many PI hotels and thought we’d try this one. The pub next door, though, was filthy and not good.

The hotel was quiet and worked perfectly as a base for us, with easy access to different routes. We had the window open all night and didn’t hear a thing. Before booking I called to check a few details, and the helpful staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. My follow-up request was handled well too. Our room had a fan, which I liked for its cooling effect, though I had to make sure it wasn’t blowing towards my partner. There were several lighting choices, including a relaxing low light behind the headboard. The room also had a couch that pulls out into a bed, which I believe many rooms here have.

We had a lovely welcome, and the room was what you’d expect at a PI. Breakfast at the Beefeater next door was freshly cooked and really tasty, with good choices. The two ladies on staff were great, zipping around and making sure everything was right. A great place to stay.
