Had a clean, warm, dry room to come back to after a day of poor weather, which I appreciated. The stay was pleasant, and the people running the place were pleasant too. Just remember it’s community run. I stayed a few years ago and would certainly go back. 👍

Stayed just one night while walking nearby with my children. The rooms and food were good, the service was friendly, and the price was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend.

A pint by the fireplace at the pub right on the doorstep was a lovely bonus. It had great vibes. At Hotel Y Pengwern, we had a pleasant stay in a clean, comfortable room, and the staff were friendly and thoughtful. They were flexible and accommodating at check-in, and kindly brought us an extra duvet for the winter night. One thing to know: the shower water can be quite cold if you check in early. My partner showered around 10pm and found it very hot, hot enough to burn if turned all the way up. We also hadn’t been told beforehand that the tap water wasn’t suitable for drinking.

My friend suffered a really upsetting bereavement in her family, and the hotel put her through all the stress of trying to get a refund, only to say she’d still be charged. Disgusting lack of sympathy and basic humanity.
