Blacksmiths Cottages

The cottage was absolutely spotless, and they provided plenty of lovely fluffy towels. It’s cosy and finished to a really high standard, with ample parking that was easy to find. The owners had thought of all the basics, including tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, and even some wood for the fireplace. We had a lovely weekend at Blacksmiths Cottages. The Ship Inn nearby is well worth a visit, and we felt very welcome there. Thanks again, Mark, Georgie and Hannah. We’re looking forward to coming back!

The Old Smithy is easily the most dog friendly cottage we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in a lot. There were throws, dog bowls, treats, a lovely 3 peaks dog bed, and the sweetest touch, a little note from the owners own dog. The cottage itself is so cosy, with a big bed, a big shower, a big garden with grass, and a big TV. The owners are very friendly too. It’s an excellent base for exploring the east coast. We absolutely loved everything and will book again. Thanks again, Georgie and Mark!

Mark and his wife Georgie were so welcoming when we arrived, and such a lovely couple. The cottages are stunning, set in a private courtyard with gorgeous grounds, beautiful shared areas, plenty of parking, and a private garden for each cottage. They’re finished to a very high standard, and our mini break was warm, cosy, and spacious. Exploring the Filey area was a real treat, with so many lovely little villages and tearooms. The local pub is wonderful and really friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will definitely return, and will recommend the place to friends near and far. Thanks for a fantastic break.

The little private garden felt like a luxury, and there were lots of complimentary extras. Everything worked as it should, and the facilities were wonderful. We recently stayed at Blacksmiths Cottage (The Little Smithy), and it was amazing. The hosts were there when we arrived and were very friendly and hospitable. The accommodation felt welcoming and was absolutely spotless, with nothing out of place. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to be unbelievably comfortable while exploring North Yorkshire. 10/10.
