My room's carpet was very dirty from the moment I checked in, and the property felt badly run down. Housekeeping was another problem. I stayed four nights, put the cleaning request sign on my door, and the room was cleaned just once. I booked four nights at this Days Inn through Hotels.com. Its own website advertises “Free Parking,” but a sign at reception said parking is free only when you book direct. Otherwise, there’s a £5 daily charge buried in the booking site's fine print. It felt like a deceptive bait-and-switch. When I raised it, the receptionist wasn't rude, but was dismissive and no help. With the unexpected charges, poor customer service, dirty carpet and housekeeping that ignored my request, I can't recommend staying here. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The bathroom was decent and the shower had good pressure, though the bath you stand in was very narrow, which wasn't great for someone as tall as me. Our room's carpet was stained and dirty and needs replacing soon. USB ports were a nice touch, but the room also had an issue with the bed. Water and snacks at reception were ridiculously priced. It's an alright little place, but the location doesn't work well if you want to get around without driving. You'll need Uber.

Staff were friendly, and the cooked breakfast was actually pretty good. It came with my room as a voucher, and I had to go into the main services to get it. The place was very basic and the carpets need replacing, but I suppose that's what you get with cheap accommodation.

The room wasn't very clean when we arrived, and the bedding was mediocre, though the rest seemed fine. The parking charge was another unpleasant start. We booked through hotels.com, then at check-in the desk assistant asked us to sign something and said it was £5 per night, £15 for our three nights. I couldn't see that on my booking. They said parking would have been free if we'd booked directly through Days Inn or Welcome Break. We paid because there wasn't really a choice. The next day we went out after thinking we'd locked the door. When we got back, it opened with a push and had apparently been unlocked all day. We'd left the sign asking for the room to be done, but the towels were still on the floor and we were low on toilet paper. We thought maybe the door being left open was an accident, so I went to reception for towels and mugs and reported that anyone could get into our room and take our things. The response was, “oh that's not good is it.” No offer to move us, check straight away, or do anything. I raised the faulty lock again the following day. They wrote down the room number, but after being out all day we came back and could still push the door open. No fresh towels either. I forgot to mention that the room sign seemed pointless, since they apparently only change towels and such on the fourth day. That was not what happened. Leaving guests with unlocked rooms two days in a row is hard to understand. I also have pictures of some of the disgusting things in the room. The service and rooms were poor, and there was no care for customers. The bathroom note said, “At days inn, our hospitality shines as brightly as the sun.” I really disagree. I will NOT stay here again.

The location suited our needs, and that was the one positive. The receptionist was rude and unhelpful, and the rooms were so filthy I couldn't wait to get out. I didn't even shower, and one bed was just a mattress on the dirty floor. My booking clearly included breakfast, but the receptionist argued it didn't even after I showed her the confirmation. I gave up because I wanted to leave. Definitely won't stay again.
