Travelodge Fleet

The location is perfect, with useful amenities nearby, and the staff were spot on when checking me in. The room was a standard Travelodge one, though the site does feel old and overdue for a refurb. There was a musty, wet-dog sort of smell when I came in, but opening the window helped. I could have done with a bit more attention to cleanliness: there were a few long hairs around the shower head, and I've felt really itchy since settling in to watch telly in bed. The shower temperature control also fell off while I was using it. It's not enough to make me properly moan, but enough to take off a star. I often have issues when staying at Travelodge, though this site wasn't actually bad. It could do with some love to shine again.

The service was great, but I didn't sleep very well because the mattress felt too hard for me. The walls seemed thin too, so I could hear people talking in the corridor and walking around.

Our room was about as far as possible from the entrance, despite the hotel being dog-friendly. Thankfully our dog didn't need an urgent trip outside in the night. The place was pretty basic but good enough, though the pee smell throughout the hotel wasn't pleasant.

We loved this lovely place. Our room was on the ground floor, and the bus stop to Fleet is just outside the Travelodge, which is handy. We'd definitely stay here again if we visit.
