Sandy Balls Holiday Village

The alpaca walk at Sandy Balls was such a fun, wholesome way to be outdoors, with lovely scenery and a peaceful stroll. The alpacas were gentle, full of character and surprisingly good walking companions. We’ll be talking about it for ages, and would happily go again. I’d recommend it whether you’re there as a couple, family or group of friends. From the start, everything felt relaxed, friendly and really well organised. The staff clearly care about the animals, welcomed us warmly and shared plenty of interesting facts before we set off. It was a definite highlight of our visit.

We loved the hot tub, even in the rain, and the cabins were clean, airy and lovely. The service is unmatched, the staff really care that you enjoy your stay and go above and beyond. There's a great setting for exploring the New Forest, with beautiful grounds and a good location. Plenty of facilities for children and dogs too. An excellent holiday spot!

There’s little mobile service unless you’re with EE. WiFi worked okay at the centre, but there was none in our unit, much to the kids’ annoyance. I thought it was funny that they had to talk to us. Our superior lodge was looking quite tired, though all the kitchen equipment was brand new. The staff were great, and the food and entertainment were acceptable. They advertise EV charging, but most chargers are allocated to units. The only public one seemed to be blocked by parked cars all the time.

We’ve already booked again for next year, after our sixth family visit with all 16 of us. The location is beautiful, and there are brilliant evening activities for both kids and adults. The food is decent, with a much better menu than Aubrey's. There could be more room for the evening entertainment. It starts at 6, so get there early. We queue from 5.30 to get a table near the dance floor for the kids.
