The Golf Inn

Good drinks choice at the bar, with reasonably priced food too. The rooms are comfortable, the views are nice, and the location works really well.

The team made this stay for us, from the guy at the bar to the housekeeper. Graeme deserves a special mention for handling breakfast on Friday all by himself. Our room was clean and well appointed, and dinner in the Restaurant was lovely, nothing to fault there. We’ll definitely stay at the Golf Inn again. Thanks, everyone.

All nine of us enjoyed our meal and the service here. The portions were generous, the food looked good and tasted great, and there was plenty of choice on the menu. The bar also had a better than average drinks selection. We’d ended up here after two staff members at the Greyfriars resteraunt complained about our group size and the fact we hadn’t booked ahead. We got up and left, and were lucky to find this place.

My friends and I all thought McDonalds would have been more edible. I couldn’t manage more than two bites of the fish and chips: the fish was still a little frozen inside, and the chips were limp and greasy, as though they’d gone into the fryer before the oil was hot. It was the worst food I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten my share of rough takeaways and meals as a Londoner, but this was horrific. My two friends had the full breakfast, which was awful too, with congealed food and overcooked bacon that seemed to have been sitting around. Please avoid.
