George Inn & Millingbrook Lodge

The staff made a stressful situation much easier when my car broke down while I was there with my young daughter and grandson. Eileen arranged for her brother, a mechanic, to come and look at it, and he was lovely and helpful. John, the owner, let me leave the car at the hotel until a recovery van could collect it. The housekeeper was helpful and patient too, and I really appreciated all their kindness. We had a lovely stay at the George Inn Hotel. The accommodation was comfortable and well presented, in very picturesque surroundings, and breakfast had a delicious range to choose from. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, and nothing seemed too much trouble. I’d highly recommend the George Inn Hotel as a welcoming place to stay.

There were four of us sharing one room, and it was a good size, clean, and had comfy beds. The staff were friendly and breakfast the next morning was lovely. I accidentally left my coat in the cupboard, but they kindly sent it back to my house the following day. Thanks again!

The restaurant was clean, tidy and spacious, with a lovely stone fireplace that made it feel cosy. Prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. We had a great atmosphere and a really enjoyable meal. At the Sunday carvery there was a good choice of meats, and the gammon was cooked just right. The roast potatoes were crispy outside and fluffy inside, with plenty of different vegetables. There was a great pudding menu too. I finished with Bakewell cake and custard, which was a perfect end to the meal. I'm sure we'll be back soon! 😊

I stayed here for work for the first time last week and had a really pleasant time. The staff member who greeted me was lovely, dinner was great, and the atmosphere was good. The room was spot on for comfort, and it all felt very good value.
