There are plenty of walks and treks within walking distance, and the decking has lovely views. Our four-night stay at maple lodge was enjoyable, with a cosy room, a comfortable bed and everything very clean. The hosts were friendly, and so were the dogs and cats. We highly recommend the Saracens Inn for a Sunday roast, about a seven-minute drive away. Richard and Hani, looking forward to coming back.

The cottage is right beside the many trails in the Forest, and we cycled for miles. The River Wye is stunning, with stand-up paddleboarding and canoeing available to hire, and there are some great pubs nearby. We had a fabulous stay in a modern, spacious and very comfortable cottage that was spotlessly clean. The maps and leaflets in the file were handy, as were the dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid and cloths. The hosts were welcoming and full of local knowledge. We highly recommend staying here.

The views towards the Malvern Hills are fantastic, and across the road you can take woodland walks down to the Wye Valley. We had a lovely, relaxing three nights in Maple Lodge. It was clean and comfortable, with big windows that let in lots of light and made it feel spacious. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. Sally and her family were welcoming and friendly, as were the dogs, and communication before our stay was great. We'd recommend it to anyone.

Sally, Anthony and Beth made us feel at home, and their dogs and cat even came over for cuddles. My husband and I spent four nights at Maple Lodge and loved it. The lodge had everything we needed, and the views across the Wye Valley were the best I've ever seen. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.
