Paula made us feel so welcome that leaving felt like saying goodbye to a friend. Balgavies Home Farm is a beautifully restored guest house, and the countryside setting was just right for switching off and reconnecting. Can't wait to come back.

After several days travelling in the van, we needed somewhere comfortable, and this was a lovely surprise. The room in the refurbished 1880s farmhouse was cosy, luxurious and finished to a high standard, even better than we'd expected. We’d definitely recommend booking the spa too if you get the chance.

We had the jacuzzi, pool and sauna to ourselves, which made for such a relaxing stay. The owners were so kind, and everything was spotless and beautifully looked after. Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. Our room had both a big shower and a bath, which was a real treat. We can’t wait to return.

We only had one night this time, but we'd happily come back and stay longer. The hosts were lovely, breakfast was delicious and the price was excellent. We didn't get a chance to use the spa, so that's on the list for our return. A real hidden gem, and easy to recommend.

We enjoyed a walk by the Loch and through the nearby Nature Reserve after our swim. The Sunflower Room was a good size, with a bath, walk-in shower and a cosy bed that gave us a great night's sleep. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi cost extra, which seemed reasonable for having them to ourselves. The pool was a good size, the jacuzzi relaxing, and the conservatory with its fish tank was lovely. Breakfast came fresh and hot. One thing felt a bit rude: we were asked to pay for the pool while we were still eating. I’d still recommend it for a restful break, with nice places to eat nearby and gorgeous scenery.
