The family room was spacious, and the overnight stay was excellent value. We made use of the gym, pool and spa, all of which were great, and the pool was a lovely temperature. Parking was easy, and the location was brilliant. The bistro food was delicious and very good value, though the portions were a little too generous for us. I was also pleased to find a great cocktail selection. The parrot in the bar was a bit noisy in the evening but quiet at night. We were really impressed and would recommend it.

Mo was a great host, friendly and helpful, and the gym and pool had a wide range of equipment. Room 23 felt a bit outdated, but I enjoyed my visit overall and would recommend staying, especially with Mo hosting. Breakfast was hot, good and enjoyable. If I’m back in Forfar, I’ll certainly stay at the Royal.

The food was delicious and the portions were very large. Having the gym and pool available was an added bonus, and the staff were excellent and friendly. The breakfast staff were especially pleasant. One lady was chatty, remembered the next day where we'd been, and asked how our day went. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.
