A lovely old pub, and lunch was great. The portions were just right, everything was tasty and nicely presented, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Excellent all round, thank you.

We waited 40 minutes at the table before any food arrived, and then one person was overcharged by £5. We paid and left, after being told only “sorry”; there was no real effort to put things right. My pork loin roast with pulled pork came without the pulled pork, and the two slices I got were fat, not loin. When I asked for help, they took the plate away and brought back the same food, now cold, saying the pork was coming. There was only a tiny amount of vegetables on all our plates. Such a shame, as the food had been okay before. What we were served today felt like a rip off.

Thank goodness I took a wrong turn on the way home and found this place. It's in a tiny village, and what a fantastic olde worlde pub. The food was great, the staff were friendly, and nobody stopped talking when I walked in. Can't wait to go back!

The steak and ale pie was delicious. That's another lovely meal at Blackboys Inn pub, and I've never had a bad one there. I'd definitely go back.
