12 Aug 2025, around 9pm. We waited about 10 minutes to be served while the staff member chatted nonsense with four girls dressed up as scurries. She was acting strangely, like a character from Trainspotting. One of the girls lifted her skirt and showed everyone her skimpy panties. When our beer came, it was put down so hard that it splashed everywhere, like a whale breaching in the North Sea. Not even a hint of an apology. Awful.

I stayed here for work and the location was great. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and had tea, coffee and bottled water, and from the top floor I had a lovely harbour view. The price was very reasonable. There’s no parking, but plenty of free roadside spaces after 5pm. There’s no food service, though there’s a nice takeaway next door and a Subway nearby. The bathroom is shared, and anyone with mobility issues may struggle with all the stairs.

I’ve stayed here twice, both times in the deluxe room 1. It’s comfortable, clean, and the bed is perfect for a good night’s sleep. Breakfast was great both visits, and the woman who prepares it is so helpful and friendly. She made it takeaway for me each time, which I really appreciated. I work away from home, so it’s hassle free. I’ll be back.

I’ve really enjoyed the service before, but today, around 2015, we were left waiting by the bar attendant while she chatted with some other guys. After a few minutes, we decided to leave. It would have been fine if she’d been serving them, but we were just waiting. That’s poor customer service.

The room looked even better than the photos, and the place was clean and welcoming. It’s easy to get to from the port, and the staff were friendly and cooperative. The bar has that typical Scottish feel and a good selection of local and international drinks.
